a bit about me

25 years' experience of playing the bagpipes

I started taking lessons to play the bagpipes when I was 10 years old.

After a year or so I joined my local juvenile pipe band, the Vale of Atholl. I spent many happy years with the Vale as we moved up the grades, and later Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Pipe Band. I made a lot of great friends for life.

We were very active on the competition circuit, and were fortunate to play at many international festivals and local concerts, as well as many Highland Games, local functions and weddings.

Highlights definitely include playing at Lorient International Festival in France, playing in Japan and winning the European and World Championship Pipe Band titles.

Piper for a Wedding and all Special Occasions!

I love helping people celebrate and mark special occasions.

There are two reasons for this. Firstly, for me it is a huge privilege to perform and bring people together for important events like a wedding, or other life event.

Secondly, and above all else, I want the people gathering to get the most from the occasion. That is the case whether it is a happy couple and their guests, or a family and friends gathering to mourn the loss of a loved one.

My job is about adding to the story and emotion of the special day.
